I can say its a great feeling when you invent something, spend a lot of time and money perfecting it, market it, and then people actually buy it. Thats why I am proud to say that there is now over 700 Honeysuckle Poppers being used in 11 different states. Around 500 of them are in the Cincinnati-Dayton area. Of those, approx 400 went to homeowners, 100 to parks and non-profits. My best customers are: New York City with 16 poppers. New York State has 11. Miami U and Oxford has 6. Cincinnati City Parks bought 5, and the Boy Scouts Camp Freelander in Cincinnati got 4. NEWS ITEMS Jan. 2008- See and buy a popper at my booth at The CINCINNATI HOME AND GARDEN SHOW March 1-2 & 5-9, 2008 Sep. 2007- After testing at several different sites, I can now say with full confidence that The Honeysuckle Popper works good on PRIVET. I popped out some over 10 ft tall - easily.This is very good news for me. Many southern states are swamped with the stuff, and my popper is now the fastest and easiest way to get them out. Sep. 2007- I will be selling the popper and taking appointments for my new Honeysuckle Removal Service at The Cincinnati Home and Garden Show, Mar. 1-9 2008 Aug. 2007- I will be displaying The Honeysuckle Popper at the 34th annual Natural Areas Conference in Cleveland Oct. 9-12. COMING SOON: 2 MAN SUPER POPPER I'm designing a bigger and stronger 2 man Popper to use for my honeysuckle removal business. I'm designing it to create around 5,000 lbs. of lift. (the Popper HD is around 2000) If you're interested in one, let me know.
RESEARCH: I am expermenting with attaching industrial vibrators to larger suckles to facilitate removal. Preliminary tests show promise. Also, I am working on 'torching' live stumps with a 500,000 btu propane torch. It does not burn through the bark a lot, but the intense heat kills the cambian layer. So far, I'm having about a 70% success rate.
Janurary 2007 - Mister Honeysuckle gives a presentation at the New York Invasive Plant Council conference in Albany. I was included in the 'Weed Managers Toolbox' part of their program.
May 2007- In the last 30 days, according to Google Analytics, this website has received 1,402 absolute unique visitors that did 3,578 pageviews. My traffic sources were; 19% direct, 7% referring sites and 74% search engines. The 7% referring sites is something I hope to improve. Along with selling the popper, I'm doing my best to inform people about honeysuckle, in a lighter non-scientific way, with no technical jargon to confuse them or to turn them off. LADIES - Get your man what he really wants for Fathers Day, Birthday or Christmas - A NEW TOOL!! ;-) Using the Popper is great exercise- MEN and LADIES- Buy a honeysuckle popper and SAVE 500 BUCKS! HOW?-Take your popper out and use it 2-3 times a week for an hour. Its a good, full body workout (I call it 'good exercise' rather than 'hard work') :-) Do that and you will not have to spend the $500 for a gym membership!

I thought the same thing before I invented The Honeysuckle Popper. I would dread it when I walked up to a suckle with my axe and mattock, knowing it was going to take a lot of work to get it out. Now, I walk up to the same size suckle and think- “This ones going to be easy!”
In July 2004 I decided to remove ALL the honeysuckles in my front yard using The Honeysuckle Popper and then install a line of natural shrubs and trees along the front. I chose not to do the 'cut and soak the stump with herbicides' method because I didn't want to leave a bunch of stumps to trip over. The fact that I'm personally not too keen on herbicide use in forests, helped steer my decision. My plan is to go out for at least a half hour every day that I can and pop suckles. At first, progress seemed slow, but once I broke through the outer barrier, I found the suckles to be smaller in the interior and generally easier to remove. Now I’m really making progress! Here’s my results after over 1,000 honeysuckles popped. As you can see, my woods is on its way to being healthy. Also, its fun being able to actually walk through my woods again.
